What Riddim Software keeps when you visit this site, and for how long.
The short version
- Opening a page adds a page-view row. That row holds no visitor ID.
- An exhibit-news address is held until we check it, or for a year. Leave the list from any exhibit-news mail.
- Your location and your sensor readings stay on your device.
- Ask us anything at accounts@manybeginnings.com.
Exhibit news
Submitting "Email me when a new exhibit opens" on the exhibit-news page writes a consent record. We hold the address until we have checked that it reaches you. An unchecked request expires after a year. This device may remember that you already asked, so the Sun card on Your Sky does not ask again.
Write to accounts@manybeginnings.com to withdraw. Withdrawing deletes the address.
What we count
The row names the event and the page, both from a fixed list. Follow a tagged campaign link and the row carries the tag as well: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term. A valid short ref tag becomes the source, with the medium set to referral. Cloudflare adds the time.
Same-tab room hops stay in this tab's memory and send one path string when you hide or leave the page. That string has no visitor ID.
Rows leave out your IP address, the user agent, the raw query string, the full URL, the referring URL and anything you typed. Cookies, browser storage and device fingerprints never enter them.
The counts tell us which pages people open, and whether a tagged link brought anyone here.
Where you are
Three pages draw a sky before you tell them where you stand. Each asks our own server which country the request came from, then names a large city there as an example. The answer is the country and nothing finer, and nothing reads your IP address. That country reaches your browser and goes nowhere else: not into a count, a database, a cookie or a log. The city list ships with the site, so nobody outside learns you opened the page.
Share your location and the coordinates stay on your device and in your browser storage. They never reach Riddim Software. Your location, compass, device orientation and sextant readings stay with you, and so does anything the camera sees.
Two services see the place on screen. The home page asks Open-Meteo, a weather service, whether your sky is open, sending the latitude and longitude of the shown place rounded to four decimal places. The map uses tiles from OpenFreeMap, which sees the map squares you look at. Neither one gets a name or a cookie from this site.
Who holds it
Riddim Software decides what this site keeps. Cloudflare, Inc. stores it and runs the site for us, and the counts live in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine. Cloudflare may handle data outside your country, including in the United States, under the approved safeguards in the Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum.
How long we keep it
Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine keeps each record for about three months.
An unchecked exhibit-news request expires after a year on its own. A confirmed address stays until you leave from an exhibit-news mail or write to us.
Your choices
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals do not change this count. They ask a site to stop cookie tracking and ad targeting, and the count uses neither. Nothing here is sold or shared. The site has no per-browser switch for page counts, and a page-view row carries no visitor ID, so we cannot find one person's page views to delete.
